The Rubicon Free Press exercises the principle of self-regulation. In particular, this applies to those contributors who self-publish to the website, www.therubiconfreepress.com.

Wikipedia describes the overall concept. "Industry self-regulation is the process whereby members of an industry, trade or sector of the economy monitor their own adherence to legal, ethical, or safety standards, rather than have an outside, independent agency such as a third party entity or governmental regulator monitor and enforce those standards.[1]"

1. Trade In Only In What Is Lawful
The Rubicon Free Press is available to be viewed by General Audiences. However, only Premium Member plan account holders may post Classified ads.

Do not post or attempt to sell, trade, share, gift, loan, rent, borrow or otherwise exchange any service or product in any format that would constitute a crime according to local regulatory authorities.

Failure to act according to the laws regulating these and related goods/services will result in immediate seizure of the user's directory listing and any or all services provided by that member plan.​

2. The Do-Not-Trade List
The Rubicon Free Press does not promote, advertise, or sell any prohibited products, including the following:

Adult content and services
1. Alcohol as the main product (liquor stores, bars, wineries)
2. Binary options, cryptocurrencies
3. CBD (Cannabidiol oil)
4. Financial products and services
5. Firearms and weapons
6. Gambling, lotteries, skill games
7. Medical devices (prescription-only and regulated medical devices)
8. Nutraceuticals (prescription-only) and dietary supplements
9. Tobacco and e-cigarettes

3. Unlawful Images
Provide ONLY images of products or services that you are authorized to upload for the purpose of advertising.

It is a criminal offence to distribute images of nudity, or pornographic images, or paedophilia; criminal harm to others or self-harm. Violators will be reported to relevant authorities.

​

Any member account found distributing images of this nature will be immediately locked pending instructions from relevant authorities.

​

As contributors to a free press, the onus is on self-publishers to obey local laws and regulations regarding online activity. The Classified Ad Form will provide further details to purchase your Classified ad on The Rubicon Free Press.
